Baseball Victoria's CEO Resigns

Clayton Crameri, www.baseballvictoria.com.au, Wednesday, 6 March 2013

Baseball Victoria wishes to announce the resignation of Chief Executive Officer, Brett Hidson.

Brett has decided to return to Adelaide with his wife and baby son following more than 3 years with Baseball Victoria. Brett's last day with us will be 12th April.

Brett has been instrumental in the growth and development of baseball in Victoria following the unification of the old VBA and VPBL, providing a significant contribution to the production of the new Baseball Victoria By-laws and reinvigorating connection with our winter and country members.

Brett's leadership in driving the future vision for Baseball Victoria has created a new Strategic Plan, the BV Participation Study, a report on the experience and motivations of our participants and the highly regarded statewide Baseball Facilities Development Plan.

Brett's motivation to provide clearer avenues for participation in our sport has established several initiatives including the rebranded Summer League with its management committee being issued with greater independence as well as stronger branding for our touring and development teams under the name 'Kangaroos'. Additionally Brett has helped establish the state academy program and state team structure under the Melbourne Aces branding, providing greater identification of a pathway into the ABL team.

Brett's hard work in building BV’s communication platform via new websites for Baseball Victoria and the Summer League, the recently launched 'Friends in Baseball' business directory, and the establishment of the new AFL Sports Ready training program has seen him become a highly respected SSA administrator in Victoria.

Prior to stepping into the CEO role, Brett played baseball for over 25 years in our competitions. He was a club and state committee member, coach, Executive Officer and was the VBA Junior League Administrator for 6 years in the early 1990s. This background has undoubtedly contributed towards his achievements during his most recent stint with baseball.

On behalf of everyone in Baseball Victoria, I wish Brett good luck for his future endeavors and thank him for his contribution.

The search for Brett's replacement will commence shortly.
