Baseball Australia reached a unanimous decision, in conjunction with all of the State Associations, that it was in the best interest of the players to formally change the date so as not to conflict with the national NAPLAN testing of year 7 students.

More information on logistics for the tournament will be forthcoming after qualifying teams are confirmed.
