3-3 Record to end WBC Preparation
Australia will go into the World Baseball Classic Round 1 pool play with three wins out of their six game preparation run in Taichung and Osaka.
The team returned to Taichung on Monday from a two-game exhibition series in Osaka against two-time defending WBC champions Japan. Australia dropped a heart-breaking 3-2 decision in Game 1 last Saturday and a 10-3 final on Sunday, but despite the fact that they lost both games there were plenty of positives taken from the series.
Speaking after Saturday’s one run loss, Manager Deeble said “there is nothing to change about our play or game plan; we will be coming back for the second round if we keep playing the way we did tonight”.
