Baseball in Victoria is played within two seasons - Summer & Winter.

The winter competitions and activities are conducted during the months between April and September. Regionally based Leagues and Associations have the direct authority over the competitions conducted within the winter season within their local areas, with Baseball Victoria providing umbrella support to other baseball activities, such as development and high performance programs.

Competition matches are generally played within both the metropolitan areas of Melbourne and some regional centres around Victoria, including Mildura and Sunraysia, Albury and North East Victoria, Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong and Latrobe Valley.

Tee-Ball is a modified form of baseball played by boys and girls aged 5-10 years. A special soft-touch ball and a tee is used to ensure that the children can learn the skills of the game in a safe and enjoyable environment without the pressures of the adult game. Active parent involvement and participation in the game is supported. Tee-Ball is an excellent start to team sports and provides an introduction to basic ball handling skills and hand-eye coordination skills. This takes place in a team environment which values the merits of the individual and participation over winning. Aussie T-Ball is the national Tee-Ball program aimed to provide a coordinated entry into baseball.

Baseball in it purest form is played during the winter within junior age groups, senior or open grades and some Leagues and Associations also conduct women's competitions. Please contact your local club or League/Association for more information on the specific comeptitions being offered.

Baseball Victoria is represented during the winter months by eight Leagues and Associations. Each League and Association is responsible for the competitions within their local areas. The Leagues and Associations are listed below.

Baseball Victoria also stage the State Winter Championships which matches representative teams from each League and Association. While being competitive is a high priority, it is just as important to have fun and enjoy a weekend of baseball in a relaxed environment.
