ASLC2019 Day 2 Recap

Hills Blue and Macarthur will enter the final day of pool play at the 2019 Australian Senior League Championship undefeated.

The New South Wales duo improved to 2-0 on Day 2 of action in Lismore, while Brisbane Metro and Adelaide Titans collected their first win of the tournament.

Hills Blue 6, Western Suns 5 | Box Score

Hills Blue moved to 2-0 at #ASLC2019 following a 6-5 victory over Western Suns on Diamond 2 on Monday.

Blue scored a pair of the runs in the sixth to take the lead.

Will Edwards singled to tie the ballgame ahead of Riley Watson scoring on an error.

Edwards struck out three in two relief innings and finished with three hits offensively.

Hills Blue starter Tom Stancic also had three hits and three strikeouts.

Suns’ starter Joshua Dass punched out three batters in four innings.

 

Macarthur 6, Manly 5 | Box Score

Macarthur rode a five run fifth inning to a thrilling 6-5 win over New South Wales counterparts Manly on Diamond 1 in Lismore.

Logan Harris, Jacob Veres, Christopher Fraietta and Bailey Senior drove in runs as Macarthur overturned a 5-1 deficit to stay undefeated at #ASLC2019.

Jack Bennetts earlier drove in a run and finished with two hits.

Thomas Butler and Jacob Wander recorded RBIs for Manly.

Macarthur starter Drew Ferris worked 2 1/3 innings, finishing with four strikeouts.

 

Brisbane Metro 17, Sunraysia Giants 5 | Box Score

Brisbane Metro notched its first win of #ASLC2019 with a comfortable 17-5 triumph over Sunraysia Giants on Diamond 2.

John Lemm, Caylan Van Hilst and Damon Orr each had three RBI as Metro recorded its first win in Pool A.

A seven-run first got Brisbane off to a dream start after falling to Western Suns on Day 1 in Lismore.

A five-run third was icing on the cake.

Van Hilst and Billy Richters finished with three hits each.

Cody Morrish drove in two runs for the Giants.

Brisbane Metro faces Hills Blue tomorrow in its final Pool A contest.

 

Adelaide Titans 13, Twins 6 | Box Score

Adelaide Titans rallied late to down Twins 13-6 and claim their first win of #ASLC2019.

The Titans scored nine runs in the top of the seventh after entering the frame down 6-4.

Boyd Worden’s RBI-single pulled Adelaide level ahead of Ryan Przibilla giving them the lead.

Carter Powell, Ethan Lucas, Riley Yeatman and Connor McLeod collected hits to add to the Titans’ advantage.

Przibilla finished with three runs batted in.

Keenan Spence drove in three runs for Twins.
